Malta Mediterranean Forum on Governance

The Malta Mediterranean Forum on Governance is an initiative focused on examining institutional governance structures and processes within the Mediterranean region. This is an ongoing project that brings together a broad spectrum of academics, practitioners and researchers to examine and debate current policy issues and challenges in the Euro-Mediterranean region. This project endeavors to construct knowledge networks and cooperation among different actors in order to enhance practices of good governance.

The initial ideas that inspired this forum emerged from two conferences held in Malta in 2011 by IPLI in collaboration with the Institute of Public Administration and Management of the University of Malta. Those two conferences were driven by a strong desire to generate more awareness of developing governance scenarios in the Mediterranean. Malta, given its unique position in the heart of the Mediterranean and its strong cultural ties to other Mediterranean states, provides a unique platform for discussing different models and solutions of governance in the region.
